Mondayest of Mondays

The sickness is upon us. Monday after school during piano lessons, Ryland complained that his stomach was upset and that he needed to throw up. Ryland can be a little over dramatic, complaining of near death when he bumps his head. I didn't think much about it

until dinner time when the kids were lying on the floor listless. As I sat there eating my salmon that I took about 45 minutes to prepare and cook for these children, Weston runs to the bathroom and I figured he was copying Ryland, as he so often does. Boy was I wrong,

Soon after, both Ryland and Weston were erupting and I was freaking out calling my husband at work for sympathy as I sat in puddles of partially digested goldfish. I put the boys to bed early and they gladly went to sleep, so you know they were sick. The boys got up several times throughout the night and I had to clean up several messes on the sheets, floor, toilet, bathtub, almost the entire house really.

Nobody went to school on Tuesday and the boys seem to be doing much better. They

were back to their regular selves, playing with Legos and fighting about the Wii. I did drive them to sleep because they won't go to sleep during the day otherwise plus, I need my

coffee.

Juliana had a fever and was fine throughout the day until bedtime. That's when it seems that she got whatever it was the boys got. It is going to be another long night, waking up and changing sheets and PJs.

Now some people like to use essential oils or organic cleaners when there is sickness in the house, but my favorite smell is Lysol and bleach when the sickness arrives. I heard that the Pope surrounded himself with fire to avoid the Black Plague in the Middle Ages, and I like to surround myself too, only with heavy disinfectants and large amounts of soap. Hopefully, this will stay with the kids and go away soon.
